In the early 1980’s  Neurosciences speciality was in  its infancy  with a handful of Specialists mainly concentrated in Bangalore and to some extent in Mangalore. To facilitate professional interaction and discussion  among the Neuroscientists of Bangalore  an informal  “Neuro Club” was formed in 1983.

As the membership increased it was time to form a formal organisation and Bangalore Neurological Society (BNS) was formed in 1994. Since many years there were suggestions to form a State level organisation, however as the number of Neuro Scientists were limited to two or three cities in Karnataka the decision was differed.

Over the last couple of decades almost every district has specialists practicing Neurology or Neuro surgery. Read More about KNA
